The D SERIES-TPS2AM modules are two-pair audio sending modules compatible with RDL Format-A twisted pair products. These modules are designed to be mounted in wall boxes, cabinets or other enclosures that allow users to connect audio sources. The -TPS2AM models mount in RDL WB-1U and WB-2U wall boxes, or in standard U.S. electrical boxes. The D-TPS2AM features a white front-panel laminate with gray lettering that matches RDL Decora©-style remote controls. The DB-TPS2AM features a black front-panel laminate. The DS-TPS2AM is constructed of stainless steel to coordinate with RDL Decora-style stainless steel remote controls in commercial/industrial installations.

APPLICATION: The D SERIES-TPS2AM modules features an XLR microphone input and a stereo Mini-jack input summed to mono. The unbalanced Mini-jack inputs are designed to receive standard -10 dBV consumer level signals. The microphone input provides 24 Vdc IEC phantom voltage and accepts both dynamic and condenser microphone signals. The input signals are amplified using studio-quality preamplifiers optimized for normal operating levels. A rear-panel GAIN switch is provided to set the amplification of the microphone preamplifier. This switch is normally set by the installer for NORM (normal) gain. If consistently low mic levels are expected, this switch may be set to the HIGH gain position. The pre-amplified microphone source is routed to pair A. The buffered Mini-jack input is routed to output cable pair B.

These modules drive only two cable pairs, therefore they accept a signal and power from one mic-level or line-level Format-A single-pair sender. The -TPS2AM modules have a second RJ45 jack for an input cable. One single-pair sender may be chained with the -TPS2AM. A single-pair sender must be set to feed pair C if it is connected together with the -TPS2AM. The power pair and all three audio pairs are fed through both rear-panel RJ45 jacks.

The D SERIES-TPS2AM may be powered directly from a 24 Vdc power supply using the rear-panel detachable terminal block. Local power connected to the module is also fed to all connected remote modules. The -TPS2AM may be remotely powered through the twisted pair cable from any other module, signal distributor or RDL power inserter connected to the same twisted pair cable. Module power is indicated by a front-panel LED.

RDL FORMAT-A features superior audio performance that rivals or exceeds shielded wiring. Design simplicity, ease of installation, unsurpassed flexibility, automatic fused power, exceptional hum rejection, low noise, and low distortion provide designers and installers the optimum choice in economical twisted pair products.

D-SERIES

D Series products are user controls, indicators and connection plates that are compatible with Decora® style mounting. D Series modules and jacks connect directly to a variety of active RDL modules in multiple product series and are compatible with many OEM products. Products in this series may be active or passive. All D Series front panels are constructed of stainless or carbon steel for durability, shielding and static protection. Stainless steel models feature a brushed finish with direct lettering. Painted models are finished with a reverse-printed front-panel polycarbonate laminate which provides an attractive, durable finished appearance.

Connector plates offer pass-thru jacks or rear-panel solder terminals. Transformer-isolated connector modules are equipped with a shielded enclosure and a rear-panel terminal block.

Active models include remote controls to provide source selection, routing, level control, muting, source or level LED indication and more.

The depth of D Series products is sufficiently shallow to permit mounting not only in standard North American electrical boxes but also in RDL wall boxes designed to fit in narrow walls used in international installations. RDL also offers a variety of related accessories for wall mounting, surface mounting and desktop chassis mounting of D Series products, as well as matching metal trim plates.

Attractive styling, ease of installation, long-life pushbuttons, high quality connectors and worldwide mounting possibilities make D Series products a preferred long-term resource for system design solutions. D-SERIES modules are designed and manufactured in the U.S.A.
